What Causes Swollen Urethra And Yellow Vaginal Discharge In A Teenager?

Hi, I m 18 years old and a female. I m having issues with a swollen urethra. About a month ago I went to the doctor and the doctor said I had a bacteria infection so she gave me antibiotics. A month later I found out it was actually chlamydia so they gave me more antibiotics for that. But now I m still having symptoms like a swollen urethra and yellow discharge. I haven t had any sexual intercourse for a long time. I went to the doctor again and they gave me the same antibiotics for the std I had which was 1000mg single dose of zithromax. It s been a week and I haven t seen any change. How can I cure this?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it is due to urethritis. Do urine culture and sensitivity and start antibiotics. Drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated. Good personal hygiene is essential to prevent a recurrence.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
