What Causes Symptoms Of Lactation In A 67 Year Old?

yes, I m 67yrs. old and my breast started to feel like they re letting down as though I were getting ready to feed a baby. The feeling is strong and the nipples get hard as they used to many yrs. ago when I was breast feeding. At 67, it s a little scary. Please help.

What is it all about, is a single answer "Hormonal Imbalance". And it may be due to any disease at the level of Pituitary goand or anywhere else in the body.

Prolactinomas are Tumors that causes the secretion of Prolactin, a hormone associated with such symptoms. Other Tumors that secrete female hormones may also lead to engorged breasts.

Breast tissue tumors may also give the same feeling. They may be benign too.


So I suggest you to consult an Endocrinologist for complete in-office evaluation and treatment according to the cause.
