Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Temporary Paralysis In The Right Lower Arm?
Experienced temporary paralysis of my right lower arm and hand last night. I shattered my wrist two years ago (ulna and radius) and had this surgically repaired (implant, pins).I spent almost 9 months in hand therapy and had radial nerve damage.I m 60 but in good health.Exercise daily, feel younger than my age. Did not have any warning markers at my health ck up last year.Next yearly in June.
This kind of temporary paralysis is commonly seen with embolism in brain artery. So in my opinion, you should get done CT angiography of brain. If this is normal then no need to worry for brain pathology. Sometimes ulner nerve dysfunction can also cause similar symptoms. So get done EMG NCV (electro myelo gram and nerve conduction velocity) study for the evaluation of ulnar nerve functions.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Kaushal Bhavsar,
