What Causes The Blood Pressure Level To Fluctuate?
Asking for my sister back east. Blood pressure (was always on the low side) is going up and down for no reason. She spent the day in the ER today and was admitted into hospital in NC last Saturday. Very hot and not enough water. She is 78 but in very good health. 105 lbs exercises and eats healthy. She passed out and went to hospital with her blood pressure at 70/40. She sees her doctor tomorrow. I went to several specialists with her a few months ago. Clean bill of health from all. Cardiologist tested her with heart monitor, ekg, stress test, and nothing. Just thought I d check your website. It s always very helpful.
hello, i can understand your concern. Since your cardiologist has ruled out causes like heart failure and all other tests are normal. you need not worry much about the low blood pressure. You can ask your sister to slightly increase the intake of salt by 2 to 3 grams. She can also take oral rehydration solution at regular intervals. kindly get serum sodium and potassium levels tested as lower levels of sodium can lead to low bp. if she isnt a diabetic, ask her to eat watery fruits like watermelon, grapes. this will also help in maintaining the bp.
hope this helps. thanks for trusting HCM
