Degeneration of disc will continue even after surgery as surgery don't corrects pathophysiology of disease. I would like to suggest conservative measures like physiotherapy, avoiding lifting heavy weight, bending forward, using lumbar corset. Take analgesic Sos and tab pregabalin if severe neuropathic pain.
Hope my answer will help you. Take care. Don't forget to rate me.
