What Causes Thick Green Nasal Discharge And Loss Of Voice?

Hi - I lost my voice traveling away from university graduation in 2009 and haven t fully had it back for the remaining time until present day. Currently, my voice is so hoarse it cracks every time I speak. I need to be able to fix this - but examinations of my throat with an ear, nose and throat doctor reveal my vocal chords to be just fine . I m always blowing my nose though - and have blood and thick green discharge in my tissues in the morning. Could this be related/can I fix this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be related to sinus infection.
I suggest to do a sinus xray to confirm the diagnosis.
Meanwhile,I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms.
I also suggest using a saline nasal spray for local application.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
