What Causes Throat Irritation With Yellow Nasal Discharge?

For the past four days I've had an abundant clear nasal discharge, while working in a cold warehouse. Anti histamine medication controlled the running overnight until this morning. Today I'm experiencing throat irritation & phlem and the nasal discharge has become thicker and yellowish.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that due to excess cold exposure you have got a viral infection leading to upper respiratory tract infection also known as common cold that seems to be superseded with viral infection..
I would suggest you to take a short course of antibiotics like Levofloxacin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, anti allergic like Levocetrizine, decongestants like Pseudoephadrine and mucolytics like Amroxol..
Do warm saline gargles, steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room..
You can also sip plenty of warm water and warm fluids..
You should avoid spicy and chilled foods..
Do saline nasal rinses for congested nose..
In case of no resolution in a week consult an Otolaryngologist and he can advise you throat swab culture to rule out the exact cause of the problem and treat accordingly..
