Hi,

I suggest it can be due to tonsil inflammation. I suggest you take azithromycin antibiotic (within one day it won't give relief, you have to finish full dosage to get the result) and do warm salt water gargle. I suggest you do betadine gargle and tongue scrubbing after brushing. Avoid having cold food and cold drinks. Have hot foodstuff and coffee. Have lots and lots of warm water. If after a week still the pain persists meet an ent and get the tests done and change treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
