What Causes Throbbing Headaches?

Lately I have been getting these weird headaches that start behind either my left or rt eye-it is throbbing and sharp-and sometimes feels like it is even in my tear duct. Eventually it spreads to the corresponding temporal lobe and then my whole front head. Advil does not relieve it but migraine medication (imitrex) does. Do you think that this rules out a tumor?
