What Causes Throbbing Pain On Left Side Of Neck And Cough?
I suddenly have sharp throbbing on left side of neck . I am 70 years old and have been coughing a lot with a virus. It's not a stiff neck. I get the occasional atrial fibrilation but am not on medication. I am normally fit and eat well. Should I be worried
Understanding your concern. As per your query throbbing pain on left side of neck and cough is probably due to acid reflux , obstruction of salivary gland ducts, tooth infection, inflammation of tonsils. Localized inflammation or infection, vasculitis, and frequent lengthy periods of keeping the head in one position for long are also associated with this. I would suggest you to start warm compresses on the affected side and do gentle massage, and physical therapy and consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and start treatment as per that. Doctor may prescribe anti-inflammatory medications antibiotics and muscle relaxers, such as orthodox MR. Doctor may also recommend tonsillectomy. If it is related to tooth infection go for root canal treatment of concerned tooth as it is causing infection. Also maintain proper oral hygiene .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
