Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Tightness In The Chest Along With Neck Pain And Light Headedness?
I used to smoke alot but have been on and off these past few months. Recently, I ve been smoking again but only one every once in awhile. I smoked one earlier today and a few minutes later I felt sick to my stomach, light headed, tightness in my chest, neck pains (I have enlarged painful lympth nodes) heart was between racing and then beating very slowly and then shortness of breath. I wanted to pass out but I managed to throw up a bit instead (which did not help). I only smoke one only once in a while maybe one every week or so but every time I get these symptoms and it s getting worse?
Smoking is dangerous to you and it is best to totally avoid. It reduces the oxygen in your blood and may be hard on your heart.I would recommend you to have some tests to check your heart like ECG, heart ultrasound and possibly a chest xray and spirometry and CBC and ERS.
These will check how your heart and lungs are doing and help you take the proper treatment in case a condition is noticed.
I hope I have answered to your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards, Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
