What Causes Tingling Sensation And Pain In Breast Upon Coughing?
I have been sick with a bad cold with cough and then pink eye. At night I cough persistently with little or no sleep. I was prescribed robitussin AC among other things, and I noticed yesterday that my breast have a tingling/burning pain when I cough. Could this be a side affect of the meds or something serious?
You have not mentioned all the medicines that you have been taking. Your symptoms can be indicative of the side effects of medications you have been taking. You are suggested to inform your treating doctor about the symptoms so that the medicines can be replaced by ones that suit you better. To get better sleep and relieve from cough you can take antihistamines at bed time. Before going to bed, rinse your mouth and gargle your throat with salt and warm water.
Keep cough lozenges in your mouth to avoid coughing. Give voice rest. Talk less. Coughing commonly causes chest pain. Get clinically examined to assess whether pain is in the breast or the chest. Get all required tests and investigations done for the chest and breast, your treating doctor may recommend mammography, this is to stay on the safer side.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
