What Causes Tingling Sensation And Pain In The Body?
my sister in hospitalized in CA-the family is being very secretive about what the problem is. She said she has tingling/pain all over her body, they say its like an autoimmune disorder she called it a reverse palsy what could this condition be? She has been receiving speech and physical therapy too
1. As the family is secretive about the disease, also your sister has confirmed that it might be an autoimmune disorder requiring speech and physical therapy thus commonest condition(s) which one has to exclude are: multiple sclerosis [MS], systemic lupus erythematosus [SLE], thyroid/sugar problem or joint disorder [RA]. PS. You can talk with your PCP [primary care physician] or a Neurologist/Endocrinologist/rheumatologist to have an insight into the disease, but one can only be certain about possibilities only when the patient is present for direct history taking and physical examination/ investigations.
2. before jumping to any conclusion certain investigations like complete blood count [CBC], serum electrolyte estimation, recent values of blood pressure & blood sugar levels & nerve conduction studies will be helpful to rule out any pathological cause for the symptoms. PS. X ray & MRI of the Cervico-dorsal spine can also be carried out to detect any nerve entrapment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
