What Causes Tingling Sensation And White Blisters On The Upper Lip?
A few days ago, my lip started tingling and now there are little white blisters on the top of my lip and up to my nose on the inner and outside of one nostril. Also, the area near my eye is starting to get puffy. My glands also hurt and my nose is off and on runny. What is going on? Do I have a sinus infection or is this just cold sores?
Well, your symptoms are pointing towards cold sores only that is caused by Herpes Simplex Virus 1.. It is not indicative of sinus infection as sore glands and runny nose is also at times seen in individuals with herpes virus exposure..
But you need to get it confirmed before you proceed for any medication..
You should consult an infectious medicine specialist and get evaluated. He will advise viral culture, antigen antibody reaction etc of cold sores is the suspected cause..
Once confirmed you will be advised antiviral medication like Acyclovir to be taken orally for about 15 days to a month and along with it topical application of antiviral medication like Valtrex will be advised..
Hope you get well soon..
Regards. Dr.Honey Arora.
