What Causes Tingling Sensation In Forearms And Elbows Despite Taking Novacain?

I ve had a spot on the left side of my face that has been tingling all day. Now it is spreading across the left side of my face and down the left side of my neck. It feels like I ve had novacane and it s starting to wear off. I also have tingling down both fore arms, starting at the elbows. Not sure what to think.

Understanding your concern.

The tingling sensation in forearms and elbows despite taking Novacain could be because of many reasons like nerve damage and decrease in blood supply due to injury,disease like multiple sclerosis or carpal tunnel syndrome . The symptoms can also occur due to side effects certain medicine so also discuss with doctor about medicine your are presently taking . Sometimes frequent activity or heavy weight lifting can also cause such symptoms .You should properly stretch your arms before doing such activities. What you can do for now is give rest to your arm ,ice your arm for 10 mins twice daily and you can also take diclofenac .If this condition reoccur frequently or you are experiencing other symptoms like dizziness difficulty in walking and breathing immediately consult orthopedics surgeon ,who can order elecromyography ,MRI ,blood test and take medical history to find out the exact cause.
