What Causes Tingling Sensation In Groin Area After Sexual Intercourse?
Hi so after a moment of indescretion and a condom that broke, panic has set in, The lady was 42, a massage therapist, a once off thing, I had 7 days worth of cipro 500 mg and Ive take 5 days so far and still feel a tingling sensation, 2 worries of course running through my mind right now, pregnancy and an std ?
I think even at 42, chances of getting pregnant are low but not zero. Unfortunately there is no way for me to determine whether she will get pregnant or not. I would suggest you to contact her to know this. Secondly about the STD, Ciprofloxacin is used to treat bacterial infections so i would definitely recommend you to complete the course.
As for the tingling sensation in the groin area, in my knowledge herpes infection can cause this but it is not always the case and the antibiotic you are taking is not the cure for viral infections. I would again suggest you to contact that female and ask her about any history of sexually transmitted disease (specially herpes) and just to be on the safe side get the herpes test done.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Hiba Tehrim, General & Family Physician
