Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Tingling Sensation In Hand Post Electric Shock?
I was working on my computer, specifically the CPU unit, which has a warning label about high voltages...I stupidly plugged in the power supply and accidentally touched the metal, shocking my entire hand for a couple seconds before I pulled away. This was about half an hour ago, I feel pretty normal now except a bit shaky and some stinging sensations in my hand. Is this anything serious and am I going to die?
This is not serious. You have not mentioned, that to which hand you got the high voltage shock. Do some massage with your other hand over the area of tingling. If not reduced or increased by next 24 hours; you will have to undergo Peripheral Doppler Test for the Arterial & Venous supply of your hand. This will rule out the spasm & blockage of the arteries. If a large blood vessel is involved or a blood clot is there, you may need a further medical management with anticoagulants and vessel dilators.
