What Causes Tingling Sensation In Left Foot Of A Diabetic Patient?

Hi I am diabetic and on no medication as yet. A couple of months ago I developed a tingling in my left foot which had gradually gone up my leg. Tonight while trying to sleep I woke up feeling unwell and was twitching in various parts of my body and could not settle. Any advice would be appreciated.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI,
I understand your concern.
Uncontrolled diabetes is bound to cause it's neurogenic symptoms.. numbness/ tingling / muscle pulls in body.I don't know since how long diabetes has been detected in your case.. please get it checked & start with proper medications & lifestyle to keep it under control.
Another possibility is spinal/ disc problems causing nerve pinching & the symptoms. PLease consult a spine surgeon, get examined & investigated toexclude/ confirm spinal problem followed by specific medication & physiotherapy .
Thanks.
