What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Ankle After An Injury?
Hellon doctor my name is shay,I would like to ask you about my ankle because 2 years ago I fell in the stairs coz my ex boyfriend made a prank while I m asleep and he woke me up telling the house is on fire so I got up and I m kinda half asleep so when I went down the stairs I fell and I sprained my both ankles but I didn t go to the doctor because I don t have insurance.recently I went to the gym and I slipped in the sauna and I twist my ankle last week and right now I can feel this tingling pain inside..what should I do?
The tingling sensation is commonly due to the nerves in an area. There are different types of nerve injury. This is likely one of the mildest forms. Since there was no open wound and the nerve is intact, it is likely that the nerve would repair itself.
This can sometimes take a few weeks. You may want to be assessed to make sure there are no other causes if it continues or worsens.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
