General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Rabies is the disease spread through the bite of rabid animal or exposure to its saliva. If there is any broken skin, there is potential chance of getting infection from the saliva exposure. There is no fear in case of intact skin.

Rabies is a viral disease affecting the nervous system and leads to death eventually. There is no cure for the disease. There are vaccine and immunoglobulin available to prevent the disease. It should be taken as per the schedule. If the bite is insignificant, nothing to get fear for the disease. Visit the physician for further queries.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
