What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Arms With Cough?

I ve been coughing over a week now. When I cough I feel like I m choking and I feel a prickly tingling sensation down my back and pain in my arms. A week ago I felt pain in my ribs and in my back when I cough and didn t get it checked I just dealt with it.

As there is a tingling sensation, I will also like to check whether there are neurological problems.
Also, I noted you felt pain in your ribs and in the back which obviously can be due to cough. But I will also check whether any other causes are present like lungs. It may also happen that due to cough, there is a pressure inside neck leading to irritation of your cervical nerve roots which can be felt as tingling in your arm.

Keeping all these in minds, I would like to give some tests:
1. Chest X-ray
2. Complete Blood Tests
3. Electromyography
4. Sputum Microscopy (if applicable)

Meanwhile, you can start this treatment:
1. If pain is there, Paracetamol
2. Levofloxacin
3. Chlorpheniramine/Hydrocodone, you can take this drug whenever you have a moderate cough.
