I am 59 year old female. My health has been good for many years.I had colon cancer 2 years ago and subsequently a removal of my ascending colon and resection (no further treatment was needed as they got it early and removed it all). I have also had open heart surgery 2 1/2 years ago due to endocarditis (possibly introduced by a dental cleaning). I recovered from both surgeries well and otherwise am very healthy and eat right, keep my weight down and exercise. Since my colon surgery, I have been experiencing a very strange thing. I have these episodes where my face starts tingling from my chin up, my throats tightens up (sometimes where I have to relax to breath), my pulse goes up to 100+...and a few times, my blood pressure sometimes drops way down (not always...but has been as low as 54/45) causing me to pass out unless I lay down flat immediately. Just in case, I do lie down flat until it passes, which usually takes about 15-30 min up to 1 hour (worst episode). Usually it s just the head flush and throat tightening. After these episodes my voice is very hoarse, I get a headache or migraine, and I m fatigued the rest of the day. I have had 19 episodes now with most of them occurring within the last few months, and they only happen in the morning between 9:00-11:30. I can t think of any triggers...it happens so randomly and seems to be for no reason!! I can t drive long distances as it may happen while I m driving....and I m a very active person, so this is very frustrating for me!! The meds I m on is Florinef (for low blood pressure), Potassium and Colchicine (For pericarditis which I have had from time to time since the heart surgery). I have a wonderful doctor but he is stumped...and so am I!!! Just looking for what could possibly be causing this...or if anyone knows what it may be called? Very frustrated...and want my life back... I would appreciate any suggestions or thoughts you may have.
