What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Hand And Arm After Taking Levofloxacin?
went to ER and was diagnosed with mild pneumonia and low potassium level after blood work, chest x-ray was done. was given potassium supplement and prescribed antibiotic Levofloxacin. I was to take one pill orally once a day. First dose was taken today and am felling tingling sensation in hands and forearms. What should I do ?
Hi, i do care for your concern. the drug fluroquinolones often causes side effects such as itching, rashes, tingling sensation, and at times anaphylactic shock. since this drug belongs to DNA gyrase enzyme inhibitor, it often reacts with our own enzymes, though the affinity is low. I would advise To stop taking the drug, consult your physician and you can switch over to other antibiotics. Also confirm that you are allergic to quinolones, by doing skin test, and if proved avoid taking in future. Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
