What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Hands While On Atorvastatin?
I've been taking atrovastin generic form of Lipitor for around 15 yrs now . Just resently woke up with tingling in the hand and prickly feeling and some heat .now at first thought might be carpal tunnel . But since ruled it out . Went to chiropractor and he feels it's a pinch nerve but about 5 weeks in haven't got the hand figured out . But doing some research and came across a article on how statins cause nerve damage . So now I'm completely confused do u think it could be from this drug .

1. Peripheral neuropathy [PN] is one of the known side effect of the drug and starts with tingling sensation and can progress to pain and has the lowest recovery rate since PN can continue [for years] even when the medication is discontinued and without improvement.
2. Ask your attending Physician to change to a different medication [try fibrates] and check with your blood sugar level since it is also a hidden cause of PN
3. try omega 3 fish oil capsules and cut on carbohydrates [eat more of fresh fruits/veggies] and loose weight [if overweight] and do aerobic exercises
