Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my boyfriend just had an episode at work last sunday. he had a tingling sensation in his lower face near his jaw. he was super hot, so he blasted the air conditioner in his car. he also felt some pressure on his heart due to his safety vest he had to wear, so he immediately stripped it off when he got back to the precint. he was sent to the er, but everything came back positive. what could he have.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
If he is not using any drugs, symptoms like tingling sensation or chest pressure can sometimes be caused by panic attack, especially if he has been checked and all came out normal. If a patient is using drugs than depending on which drug he can have symptoms like these as well.
If he gets more similar episodes he might need to see his doctor who will examine him and rule out other causes and possibly do a TSH to rule out thyroid problems and might treat him for anxiety.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Kind regards, Antoneta Zotaj, MD
