General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The hernia might cause some heartburn, burning chest pain, etc, but is not expected to cause any heart pounding or numbness of the arms and legs. In this case, anxiety is very likely the cause of the symptoms.

I would recommend you to take Omeprazole to help with the symptoms of GERD, but you will need a visit with a doctor for the anxiety and get the proper treatment and also consider some counseling.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
