What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Lips After Receiving A Botox Shot?

OK I got Botox on April 18th. Around my side mouth areas and chin. just yesterday, I noticed a tingling in my left lower lip and lack of normal action when I smile - kind of like going to the dentist. It is still there today. It scares me. Could it be a delayed reaction from the injection. Otherwise should I go to the doctor ASAP.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.

Yes, this is obviously caused by Botox which may have replaced and now causes irritation of sensory nerves in this area. This is fortunately just temporary condition and all you need is to wait and it will go away since botox always has limited effect which may take form few weeks to 2-3 months. There is no need for some intevention or ER visit. You can call your plastic surgeon who did this but there is specific treatment which would facilitate recovery as I said.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
