What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Lips?

My husband recently used Windex to clean (but not rinse out afterwards) a refrigerator we use outdoors (Scottsdale) for cold drinks. I opened a soda and soon afterwards had tingling lips and numbness around my mouth. Could that be from the Windex. I have a history of reactions to outgassing of chemicals and had the same (but much graver) reaction to the interior of a new car. I washed my face, took Benadryl ,and used a cold pack which seems to have relieved the symptoms. What do you think?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

It looks like Tingling sensation of lips can be due to Allergic reaction however it can be due to irritation of the lips cause with the vapours of the chemicals used in the cleaning agents..
It can take a couple of days to resolve..
You can take Benadryl and continue to do cool compresses..
Avoid getting repeatedly exposed..
Apply petroleum jelly to soothe the lips..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
