What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Right Shoulder?

the last few days I have had intermittent tingling in my right shoulder up through my right jaw (to about the cheek). I have a lot of tension usually in my neck and shoulders due to working at a desk. I recently have started using a desk that raises to allow me to stand and so I have been standing more lately. I m also taking antibiotics for a staph infection (boils). I m a heart patient (had a CABG6 in Sept 09). I take carvedilol for hypertension. What do you think my next steps are to figure this out? Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I evaluated your concern deeply. This is in relation to some nerve entrapment at the shoulder level due to specific angulation during the working hours. Next step to figure out this is to get fasting blood sugar (to rule out diabetes), high resolution soft tissue ultrasound, nerve conduction velocity report by expert neurophysician, and MRI in selected cases only.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel
