What Causes Tingling Sensation On The Left Side Of The Body?

I am a 43 year old male who is experiencing a tingling sensation on the left side of my body and complete numbness in my left leg at times. I have always been in good health but this is concerning. I have fallen down twice while walking due to my left leg going numb. What could it be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Tingling sensation & numbness on the left side is indicative of peripheral neuropathy, check if your BP, blood sugar & Na, K levels are normal. Stay hydrated take ORS.

Stroke also presents with such symptoms, stroke is a condition when the brain cells start to die due to the reduced supply of oxygen & nutrients to the brain cells resulting in numbness of face, arms, legs or paralysis of one side of the body.

Visit ER, at the earliest, get physically examined, get CBC, Urinalysis, X-Ray, CT, MRI has done. Get evaluated, your treatment will depend upon the severity of the disease detected.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
