Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Tingling Sensation On The Shoulder And Right Side Of The Face?
HI I was in a serve motorcycle accident last September, I broke my shoulder and had third degree burns over most my body. I have sense recovered and had surgery to repair my shoulder. IN the last 2 months I have had consistent tingling and pins and needle feelings in my right shoulder(opposite of the broken shoulder , left) and right side of my face. Any idea if this is related to accident or possible causes?
The symptoms of tingling, numbness over face and shoulder region may be due to radiculopathy or nerve involvement. Another possibility is spinal cord involvement.
If MRI of spine is normal then nerve conduction study and EMG study is required. Features suggestive of fasciculations present. You need to get examined by a Neurologist.
Stress and insomnia may be contributing to fasciculations. Blood investigation like thyroid profile needs to be done too. Upload more report's, prescription and imaging.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Wishing you all the best.
Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
