Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had my left ear cleaned out this morning because there was wax on my eardrum. Since it has been removed, my ear feels like how it pops when after an airplane lands. Is this normal? The only way I can describe it is it feels like my hearing went down. I'm really freaking out because I had wax removed before and didn't have this problem after. Do I have to go back?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain there is a possibility that while ceaning the ear wax there has been damage to the ear drum leading to perforation leading to clogged feeling as well as reduced hearing.. It has to be taken care of and you need to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly.. In case if there is a small perforation antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkillers and decongestants nasal sprays can help.. In case if the perforation is large surgical correction is advisable..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
