What Causes Tinnitus And Hearing Loss?

My daughter has been on antibiotics and ear drops for just over 48 hours for ear infection and swimmers ear. She is still having a hard time hearing anything and she says there is noise in her ears. How long will it take before we see any improvement?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, it most likely seems to be temporary and the issue will resolve hopefully within a week. The difference in air pressure or water pouring into ears may have caused the symptoms.

A careful otoscope examination by an ENT specialist to rule out any damage to eardrum should be done. Chewing gum on the affected side may be used regularly and it helps too.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
