What Causes Tinnitus And Loss Of Hearing In The Left Ear?

I have never had trouble with my ears until recently experience ringing and hearing loss in my left ear. I recently had a hearing test done and the ENT DR said their is a good chance it would be permanent. I am now on predisone and am not getting any relief? He called it sudden neurogenic hearing loss??? Because my right ear is currently fine he menshioned about a hearing aid that uses your good ear to balance it?? Wondering more info??

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of tinnitus and loss of hearing in the left ear it's a symptom of an underlying condition, such as ear injury, circulatory system disorder, and stress. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination and to find out exact cause. Doctor may order certain tests like audiological test , rushing test, high and low pitched test. Doctor may prescribe tricyclic antidepressants , alprazolam and devices like hearing aids and masking devices . You should avoid touching or pricking ear. You should also take supplement like ginkgo biloba which is very helpful in such cases.
