Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My LO is 5 months old now. She has been lazy to eat for 4 days recently. She seems to hate sucking bottle. She still suck my breast well, but I dont have enough milk so I try to feed her little fomular milk with a spoon. Today I saw some very tiny red spots on her tip tongue. Is there any problem with my LO? What should I do now? Thank you so much
Thanks for writing to health care magic. I can understand your concern.
It is very difficult to comment what that tiny red spot is with out a physical examination. Please consult your doctor once. Congratulations for breast feeding your baby. Continue to breast feed your baby.
A baby should be exclusively breast fed till 6 months of age. Breast feeding is important as this contains the right things required for the baby in right proportions at the right time. It is ideal for brain growth. Breast milk prevents various infections like loose motions, respiratory infections, etc.
