Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I ve been extremely thirsty for the last week or so, along with being unusually tired and my stomach is larger than normal. I m fairly active, rowing every day and running twice a week. My diet is less than 1300 calories, filled with meat and veggies and meal replacement bars, so I m not hungry.
Excessive thirst is a classic sign of diabetes. Diabetes also causes tiredness. You are suggested to visit a diabetologist & get blood tests & Urinalysis done to confirm the type of diabetes that is causing such symptoms & discomfort. However, the other medical conditions that cause tiredness are anemia, thyroid issues, heart problems etc. Get examined & treated at the earliest.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
