Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Tiredness, Lethargic And Retaining Thought Problems?
Why do I feel tired, lethargic and have problems retaining thought even after 8 hours of sleep? I also have problems waking in the morning and have developed headaches this past week which comes and goes but mostly, I don t feel awake and alert throughout the day. I don t drink alcohol, coffee or sodas or smoke.
Hello! I read carefully your query and understand your concerns.
The symptoms you have described are indicative for Hypothyroidism. This is a condition of thyroid gland when the gland isn't producing enough thyroid hormones necessary for the normal function of the body. The diagnosis is confirmed by testing thyroid function including : FT3,FT4, TSH. I would suggest to consult a physician and get examined. If these tests result are normal ,your physician may consider other possibilities like Anemia,Diabetes or Hypoglicemia,Low blood pressure ets.
Hope it was of help. Kind Regards!
