What Causes Tiredness While On Amoxicillin?

YES, PLEASE. I AM CURRENTLY TAKING AMOXILLIN 500MG. THREE TIMES PER DAY FOR ONE WEEK. I HAVE BEEN ON THEM FOR FIVE DAYS, AND I FEEL TOTALLY EXHAUSTED! I AM ALMOST FINISHED. SHOULD I CALL DR. AND TELL HIM HOW I AM FEELING, AND STOP TAKING THEM? my dentist prescribe it for for infection of my teeth.

Hi,

As per your complain it seems that exhausted feeling is due to side effect of antibiotic Amoxicillin and as you have already taken it for 5 days with the symptoms exaggerating you should stop taking the same and consult your dentist so that he can change the antibiotic with other groups of drugs.

Another information that I would like to give you is that taking only antibiotics will not resolve the problem completely and you should get the tooth treated. You should get an x-ray of the infected tooth done so that the exact severity of the infection and tooth loss can be evaluated.

In case of deep infection but if tooth can be saved root canal treatment of tooth followed by crown placement and antibiotics and painkillers will help. In case if tooth cannot be saved, extraction is advisable.
