What Causes Tiredness While Taking Levothyroxine And Anticoagulant?

Hi, My name is Kathy. I m currently taking levothyroxine for thyroid and Coumadin as a blood thinner for Lupus anticoagulant. I am tired and sleep at least 8 hours a night but still feel like I m dragging during the day and sometimes take a 40 minute nap in the middle of the day. Could my tiredness be a side affect of my medication? I m also on simvastatin and atenolol.

Yes, fatigue is a known side effect of both levothyroxine and Coumadin. Levothyroxine is a thyroid hormone replacement medication used to treat hypothyroidism, which can cause fatigue as a symptom. However, it is important to make sure your thyroid hormone levels are adequately managed as uncontrolled hypothyroidism can also cause fatigue. Coumadin is an anticoagulant medication that can also cause fatigue as a side effect. In addition, both simvastatin and atenolol can also cause fatigue as a side effect.
