What Causes Toothache And Numbness On The Chin After Biting A Lemon Seed?
Hi, I Bit a lemon seed on accident last Saturday and it hit the tooth that had broke a couple years back and had it filled. Next morning woke up with toothache went to urgent care cuz I had been sick got antibiotics and painkiller then yesterday my left side of my chin and lip have gone numb causing a burning sensation what can this be?
The numbess and burning sensation are linked, they are both due to abnormal function of the nerves in the area.
This is called neuropathy, it can be temporary or permanent. In your case, it is likely temporary.
There are different possible causes , trauma and infection are two of the causes. It is likely that there may have been trauma to the nerves when you bit into the seed.
It would be best to be seen for the symptoms to be assessed.
Common pain killers can be used but if there is no improvement in symptoms then nerve specific medications maybe needed eg tegretol, lyrica, gabapentin, amitriptyline
I hope this helps
