What Causes Tremors In The Hands After A Lung Surgery?

Hi Dr. I am 84 year old male. I have had lung surgery, and I have shaking hands. Not from drugs or alcohol. I was on Chlonazapan for quite a while but the Dr said it was taking my memory, so he changed me to the Hydroxyzine. A Neurologist wants to change me to Topiramate for the shakes, instead of the Hydroxyzine I have been taking. What do you think?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Hands shaking is a side effect of Hydroxyzine, and if you didn't have it before taking Hydroxyzine, this might have been the cause.
Topiramate is studied to have benefits of hand shaking, so it's a good treatment choice in your case.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Suela Gjata,
