What Causes Tremors In The Head When Under Stress?

No major surgeries, kidney stone 1985, 2 births 1987 & 1989, angioma brain stem bleed 2004 resulting in slight nerve damage of vision difficulties, balance at times, but nothing major that has not been compensated for. Some 6 years later, I now at approx. age 61 have only the head and voice tremors that worsen when nervous or stressed. Talking to strangers is now stressful for me. I take only lisinopril 40 mg. for 12 years now and prior to that accupril for a few years while in my late forties but stopped when I lost weight. I am currently overweight approx. 20 to 30 lbs. with no other ailments or arthritis yet, but am inactive by most standards as I do not like excercise. My mental capacity is strong as always and although I have always been considered melodramatic (a personality trait) I am laid back but certainly not a defeatist when wronged. I speak even though my decibel range is difficult for others, it sounds loud enough to me. My voice definitely is shaky and at times very difficult for me. Confrontations that I am currently dealing with such as contractor screwups with my house siding is not easy for me to argue with a shaky voice but I maintain a firm resolve irregardless. Any suggestions on how to aid this malady of mine without undue medications (unless absolutely necessary) to which I know can create worse symptoms than what I already deal with. Thank you. Kathy Canvin Age 67, divorced with one son living at home and his age is 27. I do not work and receive sufficient income to live in my 4,000 sq. ft. home that I will eventually sell when the market becomes more desirable to do so. My hobbies are design, reading, gardening, and philosophizing with my sons as they may be young and inexperienced but both have great minds. I am definitely a proud Mom, what can I say! I also love decorating my home with happy colors and listening to inspirational songs that speak directly to me alone but touch my psyche and uplift my spirit. Should I be concerned with these tremors that appear to remain steady without increasing? Oh by the way, no offence intended but I must say that I really do not like going to doctors although sometimes we have no choice! Sincerely, Kathy R. Canvin

Hi,

It is quite common in anxiety. Consult a physician and get evaluated. You might require drugs like Propranolol.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
