What Causes Tremors In The Left Arm While On Citalopram?

My 20 year old son started 20 mg Citalopram about 4 months ago. He missed his dose last night, and has been having frequent left arm tremors, significant weakness, and feeling like he may black out. He is in a dorm at college. Could these be due to his missed dose?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It is not related to Citilopram. If symptoms persists, better to consult a neurologist to rule out possible causes like Parkinsonism and essential tremor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

General & Family Physician Dr. Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi's  Response
Hi,

Tremors are a side effect of Citalopram. The symptoms usually go away on its own. If the symptoms continue you should consult your doctor and take an alternative medication.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
