What Causes Tremors In The Legs While On Sertraline?
Hello, I am taking setraline and have tremors in my legs when I stretch it and sometimes when I walk...this is the first time it happens. I took Advil today. Could that be related? I also have drank coffee and was late taking my medication today (36 hrs since last dose) I took it earlier when I got a refill. Is this something I should be concerned about? I am on 100mg a day and have been taking it for 6 weeks with 4 weeks at 100 mg. Should I discontinue NSAIDS, is that the problem
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Tremor is a usual side effect of SSRIs like Sertraline. It is likely because you had the dose delayed. Tremors will likely subside on its lumen in few hours. Taking NSAIDs with Sertraline is not a major issue except for the fact that in some individuals it can rarely increase bleeding risk. You do not need to worry. If the tremors persists after few days, follow up with your treating physician to reduce the dose of Sertraline.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
