What Causes Troubled Sleep With Body Pain When On Vyvanse For ADHD?

hi. I ve been taking 30 mg vyvanse for adhd I ve been taking it for the past four days now, since then..I ve been having trouble sleeping I ve only had 2 to 3 hours of sleep... I also been noticing a strange odor coming fromm my urine as well as from my body i feel little bit of pain in my kidneys when i urine sometimes. Never had any infection nor kidney stones. no matter how much water I consume, my mouth is still gets really dehydrated,as if I hadn t drank water in days. im having trouble with my appetite. I don t feel like eating anything , I can spend the whole day without eating and i still wont feel hungry. this is probably a normal reaction to the medication, but if the side effect continues should i wait it out until my body gets used to the medication or should I contact my doctor immediately?

Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.

I understand that you are going through a difficult time due to the recent symptoms that you are experiencing after starting Vyvanse. Now, many of the symptoms that you have mentioned - like disturbed sleep, dryness of the mouth, poor appetite, etc. are indeed well known side effects of the medication Vyvanse (Lisdexamfetamine), which is a stimulant medication.

You don't have to be alarmed by these symptoms since they are relatively common side effects and usually tend to wear off as the body gets used to the medication. So, my suggestion is that you can wait for about 2 weeks to see if the symptoms wear off. In case, they are persistent or increasing, then you can report this to your doctor.
