Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I have a smallish bump on top of my lip in my cupid bow area. it seems to be filled with some kind of liquid, it is yellowish? It's been here for about 2 weeks. It's a bit shiny and sometimes bleeds or leaks however not often. It sometimes crusts up into a scab but then the scab will go and the bump stays exactly the same. I think it might have gotten bigger but I'm not 100% sure. I could really do with some advice on what it might be and how to get rid of it. It's very noticeable and embarrassing at times. Thankyou
As per your complain it seems that a Ulcer on Cupid bow that is yellowish can be due to either hair follicle infection or Folliculitis while it can also be due to ingrown hair.. It can also be an inflamed Sebaceous gland..
I would suggest you to consult a Physician and get evaluated and a clinical evaluation can be done..
You can be advised to apply antiseptic ointment like Triple Antibiotic Ointment and a Steroid ointment over it.. Do alternate warm and cool compresses over it.. You can also get Incision and Drainage done for faster resolution.. In case of ingrown hair the hair will be removed so that the aea heals and does not recur..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
