What Causes Unilateral Hearing Loss?

Hi, My right eardrum is looser than my left one. I have been told by an audiologist that my hearing is actually better in my right however I don t perceive it that way. It seems that I can hear the sounds but I can t feel them, so it sounds like a lot of high frequencies are always to the left of me. Is there anything I can to to get the right amount of tension back into my right ear drum?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Before treatment diagnosis must be made first. It needs to be investigated by pure tone audiometry, tympanometry, and nasal endoscopy should also be done to rule out the pathology of nasopharynx.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Tabassum Aziz
