Hello,
Ovarian pain does not occur in the upper abdomen. It occurs in the lower abdomen. The following are few causes of upper right abdominal pain:
1) Acute gastritis
2) Acute cholecystitis
3) Liver abscess
4) Peptic ulcer
5) Gall stones
6) Kidney stones
7) Enlarged liver
8) Peritonitis
My suggestions are as follows:
1) If your pain is slight, take a tab.
Buscopan and wait if the pain reduces.
2) If your pain persists or increases, please do
consult a gastroenterologist for clinical evaluation and tests like
ultrasound imaging of abdomen and pelvis.
3) If your
ovarian cyst has increased in size and enters into abdominal cavity, that also causes similar pain.
4) We can only point at a specific diagnosis only after clinical examination and ultrasound imaging of abdomen and pelvis.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
