What Causes Urinary Incontinence After Knee Surgery?

Before I had total knee surgery, I would have off and on bladder infections. After the knee surgery I started having some urgency to urinate, etc. After my first revision, the problem became worse. After my second knee revision for about 7 hours in the hospital I had to urinate every hour. I wasn t allowed to get up by myself...but the nurse was becoming very angry at having to stop other work every hour to come help me...and my room mate was upset that we were waking her every hour. When I got home I had incontinence. I have CMT and cannot walk..so I sitting all the time and I sit here and feel the urine running out of me. I m sooo fed up with it. Can knee surgery cause this?

Hello

It could be due to anesthesia but there is no way of telling till you get it confirmed by your operating surgeon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Harshita, Ophthalmologist
