Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a 9 year old daughter. She has a bathroom less than 6 feet from her bedroom door. In the morning I smell urine. On her, her clothes she s thrown in the floor or hid, her blankets, and we don t know why? She s been checked for urine infections, and I ve asked about bladder problems, and everyone says she s fine, that there s no problem. So why is she still peeing herself? And I have even caught her one time leaning with her back to her bed and peeing on the floor! For no reason! Please give me any direction to go in for some kind of help with this???? Oh and no menstrual cycle yet though she is getting hair already, but she has not shaved her legs yet.
I think your daughter is peeing on the floor without being conscious. This is because she might be very tired and thinks she is going to bathroom while she is not. Another reason could be she is too sensitive and shy. To me, you should not put too much pressure on her. But, should help her. Be closer to her, discuss things she likes with her.
During night time, you can check her regularly, and help her going to bathroom. You can schedule wake up time during night, so she will get habit to go to bathroom. Try to ensure she is waken up without yelling or offending her. If not, try to speak softly and assist her adequately.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
